Trincomalee, popularly referred to as “Trinco”, is home to an uninterrupted stretch of beautiful beach that runs along the northern stretch of Trinco for nearly 30 kilometres, starting from Uppuveli beach which is close to Dutch bay at the natural harbour; stretching towards Nilaveli beach where ferries and boats leave for Pigeon Island, the snorkelling hotpot of the east; ending with Kuchchaveli beach that comprises absolute calm and tranquillity with not a fishing boat in sight and also well known for the stunning resort of Jungle beach . The Red Rock Bay near Nilaveli is an estuary with some unique pink boulders.
